A nourishing, no-bake snack packed with feel-good ingredients.
Looking for a quick, satisfying snack that’s as nutritious as it is delicious? These energy balls are one of Dr. Jamie’s go-to recipes—perfect for busy days at the office, post-workout pick-me-ups, or a wholesome treat for the whole family (yes, even the littles love them!). Made with fiber-rich oats, healthy fats, and superfood seeds, this recipe is as adaptable as it is energizing.
Ingredients
- ½ jar of butter base (creamy or crunchy, almond or cashew butter—your choice!)
- 1 scoop of organic protein powder (no GMOs, no artificial sweeteners) – Truvani is a great option!
- 1/4 cup real maple syrup (no High Fructose Corn Syrups) or local honey to taste – Tender Crop has local Essex County honey & syrup
- 1½ cups organic gluten free oats – Trader Joe’s has flax & chia seeds included
- 1 scoop collagen powder (for an added boost) – I love Ancient Nutrition
- 1 tbsp ground flax
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
Add Ons:
- ¼ cup shredded coconut
- ¼ cup allergy free chocolate chips – Dr. Jamie’s favorite: dark chocolate
- Chopped nuts
- Organic jams
- Spice: cinnamon, real Himalayan sea salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond butter and maple syrup or honey until smooth.
- Stir in the protein powder, oats, seeds, coconut, chocolate chips, and collagen until well combined.
- If the mixture feels too dry, add a little more nut butter. Too wet? Add a sprinkle more oats.
- Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined tray.
- Chill in the fridge for 15–20 minutes to set—or enjoy right away!
Pro Tip
Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week… if they last that long!
